Kyushu University to abandon female student quota

FUKUOKA--Bowing to criticism, Kyushu University in Fukuoka Prefecture
will discard a quota system for female students originally planned to
go into effect in 2012, officials said May 19.
The university planned to reserve some seats for female students in
the mathematics department of the Faculty of Sciences to increase
female researchers.

女性を増やしたいなら、数学の問題を易しくすればいい。

ちょっと前、千葉大医学部は女子の比率が高くなりすぎたため、男女比の均衡を保つため、入試の数学の問題を難しくしたとか。

何が平等で、何が均衡かっていうのは永遠の課題だわね。
